Objective
The objective of this lesson is for the student to create a colorful collage depicting the different days of creation from the Bible. They will learn about the story of creation and engage their creativity by cutting out pictures from magazines to correspond with each day.
Materials and Prep
- Magazines
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Construction paper or poster board
- Pre-cut shapes of the sun, moon, stars, plants, animals, and humans
Before the lesson, make sure you have gathered enough magazines with a variety of pictures that can be used for the collage. Also, cut out pre-made shapes of the sun, moon, stars, plants, animals, and humans to provide as options for the student to use.
Activities
- Introduce the story of creation from the Bible, focusing on each day's creation.
- Allow the student to look through the magazines and find pictures that correspond to each day of creation.
- Guide the student in cutting out the pictures and arranging them on the construction paper or poster board to create their collage.
- Encourage the student to use the pre-cut shapes provided to add more elements to their collage.
- Once the collage is complete, have the student share their creation and explain which pictures represent each day of creation.

- God created the world and everything in it. He made it beautiful and colorful.
- On the first day, God created light. Let's find a picture of the sun or a light bulb to represent this.
- On the second day, God created the sky and separated the waters. Look for pictures of clouds or water to represent this.
- On the third day, God created land, plants, and trees. Find pictures of trees, flowers, or grass for this day.
- On the fourth day, God created the sun, moon, and stars. Look for pictures of these celestial bodies.
- On the fifth day, God created birds and fish. Find pictures of birds or fish to represent this day.
- On the sixth day, God created animals and humans. Look for pictures of animals or people.
- On the seventh day, God rested. We can include a picture of someone resting or relaxing.
- Remember to cut out the pictures carefully and glue them onto the construction paper or poster board.
- Be creative and have fun arranging the pictures to create your own unique collage.
- Once you're done, you can share your collage with others and explain what each picture represents.
