Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to effectively use a widening range of processes, skills, strategies, and knowledge for responding to and composing texts in different media and technologies.

Materials and Prep

  • Computer or laptop with internet access
  • Pen and paper
  • Access to various forms of media (books, articles, videos, etc.)

Activities

  1. Explore Different Media

    Find and consume texts in different media such as books, articles, podcasts, videos, or websites. Take notes on the unique features and characteristics of each medium.

  2. Create a Multimedia Presentation

    Select a topic of interest and create a multimedia presentation using a combination of text, images, audio, and/or video. Incorporate the knowledge gained from exploring different media into your composition.

  3. Collaborative Text Response

    Engage in a discussion or online forum with peers to respond to a text. Share your thoughts, ask questions, and provide constructive feedback to others.

  4. Reflective Journaling

    Write a journal entry reflecting on your experience with different media and technologies. Discuss how your understanding and appreciation for various forms of communication have evolved.
