Materials and Prep

  • Old magazines or newspapers
  • Optional: any additional art supplies you have at home
  • A clean workspace

Before starting the lesson, make sure you have all the materials ready and find a comfortable spot to work on your art.

Activities

  • Create a collage: Cut out interesting images or patterns from old magazines or newspapers and glue them onto a piece of paper to create a unique collage artwork.
  • Experiment with watercolors: Use watercolor paints and brushes to create colorful abstract patterns or landscapes. Play with different brush strokes and blending techniques.
  • Draw a self-portrait: Sit in front of a mirror and sketch your own face using pencils. Pay attention to the proportions and details of your features.
  • Create a comic strip: Design a short comic strip with your favorite characters or create your own. Use speech bubbles and panels to tell a story.
  • Explore shading with colored pencils: Practice shading techniques to add depth and dimension to your drawings. Experiment with different pressures and layering colors.
