Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will have a better understanding of the library, its resources, and how to make the most of their visits.
Materials and Prep

- Access to a library (either physical or online)
- Computer or device with internet access (if using an online library)
- Optional: Library card
Activities
-
Library Scavenger Hunt: Create a list of items or resources that can be found in a library. Have the student search for each item and check them off as they find them. This activity will familiarize the student with the layout and organization of a library.
-
Book Recommendations: Ask the student to find a book they enjoyed reading and write a short paragraph recommending it to others. Encourage them to include the title, author, and a brief summary of the book, as well as why they think others would enjoy it.
-
Research Project: Have the student choose a topic of interest and guide them through the process of researching it using library resources. Teach them how to use the library catalog, reference materials, and online databases to gather information. They can then present their findings in a written report or a short presentation.
