Objective

The objective of this lesson is for the student to engage in physical activity while incorporating their interest in Hot Wheels, enhancing their gross motor skills, coordination, and imagination.

Materials and Prep

  • Hot Wheels cars
  • Open space for movement
  • Optional: small ramps or obstacles

No specific preparation is needed for this lesson.

Activities

  • Hot Wheels Race: Set up a start and finish line using tape or markers on the floor. Encourage the student to race their Hot Wheels cars from the start to the finish line, cheering them on and celebrating their victories.
  • Obstacle Course: Create a simple obstacle course using household items like pillows, cushions, or books. The student can drive their Hot Wheels cars around and through the obstacles, practicing balance and coordination.
  • Car Wash: Fill a basin with soapy water and provide a sponge. Let the student give their Hot Wheels cars a "car wash" by dipping the cars in the water, scrubbing them with the sponge, and rinsing them off. This activity can be done outdoors if preferred.
  • Imagination Play: Encourage the student to use their Hot Wheels cars to create stories and scenarios. They can pretend to drive to different locations, have races with imaginary friends, or go on exciting adventures.
