Hey there, awesome race car driver! Look at all your super cool Hot Wheels! Let's pick out some favorites. First, can you help me count how many blue cars we have? Let's line them up and touch each one as we count together: 1, 2, 3... Wow!
Now, let's find the red cars. How many red cars are there? Let's line them up and count again!
Great job counting! You're like a counting champion!
Parking Lot Party: Adding Fun! (10-15 minutes)
Let's draw a big parking lot on our paper with some parking spaces, or we can use tape to make parking spots on the floor.
Okay, let's park 2 cars in our parking lot. Drive them in: Vroom! Vroom! Park!
Now, here comes another car! Let's park 1 more car.
How many cars are in the parking lot altogether now? Let's count them all: 1, 2, 3! See? 2 cars and 1 more car makes 3 cars! That's adding!
Let's try another one! Clear the parking lot! Park 3 cars. Now park 2 more cars. How many cars are parked in total? Count them up! (Result: 5)
Race Away: Take Away Time! (Optional, 5-10 minutes)
Line up 4 cars like they're ready to race!
Ready, Set, GO! Oh wow, 1 car is super fast! It raced far away! Bye-bye car!
How many cars are still left at the starting line? Let's count them. (Result: 3). Yes! We had 4, but 1 raced away, so now there are 3 left. That's like taking away!
Let's try with 5 cars. Line up 5 cars. Okay, 2 cars race away this time! Vrooooom! How many are left? Count them! (Result: 3)
