Create a place value chart on a blank paper. Write down the place values from ones to thousands. Fill in the chart with random numbers and ask the student to identify the value of each digit.
Ask the student to write down numbers with zeros in different positions (e.g., 205, 700, 40). Discuss with the student the significance of zero in each position and how it affects the value of the number.
Create a game where the student rolls a dice and writes down a number. Then, ask the student to identify the place value of each digit and explain the role of zero in that number. Award points for correct answers and see who can get the highest score.
