Materials and Prep

  • Construction paper
  • Scissors

  • Assorted craft materials (e.g., buttons, yarn, feathers, beads)
  • Old magazines or newspapers
  • Optional: Craft books or online resources for inspiration

No prior knowledge is required for this lesson. Just bring your creativity and enthusiasm!

Activities

  • Create a Collage: Cut out interesting pictures and words from old magazines or newspapers and arrange them on a piece of construction paper. Glue them down to create a unique collage.
  • Make a Paper Mosaic: Cut small shapes from colored construction paper and arrange them to create a mosaic design on a larger piece of paper. Glue the shapes down to complete your mosaic.
  • Design a Dreamcatcher: Use a paper plate as the base for your dreamcatcher. Cut out the center and decorate the remaining ring with yarn, feathers, and beads. Hang it up and let it catch your dreams!
  • Build a 3D Sculpture: Use various craft materials like buttons, yarn, and beads to create a unique 3D sculpture. Let your imagination guide you as you experiment with different shapes and textures.
