Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to compare and contrast the approaches of Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. towards civil rights, and understand their impact on the Civil Rights Movement.

Activities

  • Research Activity: Instruct the student to conduct independent research on Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. Ask them to gather information about their backgrounds, beliefs, and approaches to civil rights activism.
  • Compare and Contrast: Have the student create a Venn diagram or a T-chart to compare and contrast the ideologies and strategies of Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr.
