Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to recognize and name various objects and animals using flashcards.
Materials and Prep
- A set of flashcards with pictures of objects and animals
Activities
- Show and Tell: Show a flashcard to the student, and ask them to name the object or animal on the card. Encourage them to use complete sentences, such as "This is a cat" or "That is a car."
- Memory Game: Lay out a few flashcards in front of the student. Let them study the cards for a minute, then ask them to close their eyes. Remove one card and ask the student to identify the missing card.
- Sorting Activity: Divide the flashcards into two groups, objects, and animals. Ask the student to help you sort the cards into the correct categories.
- Guessing Game: Hold a flashcard behind your back and describe the object or animal to the student without showing them the card. Encourage the student to guess what it is based on your description.
