Activities

  • Memory Match: Create a memory match game using index cards or pieces of paper. Draw or write pairs of related objects or words on each card, then mix them up and place them face down. Turn over two cards at a time, trying to find matching pairs. This will help strengthen your memory as you try to remember where each card is located.
  • Story Retelling: Read a short story or watch a video together. Afterward, ask your child to retell the story in their own words. This activity exercises their memory recall and helps them practice organizing information.
  • Number Sequencing: Create a number sequence using sticky notes or pieces of paper. Start with a simple sequence (e.g., 1, 2, 3) and have your child continue it. Gradually make the sequences more challenging as their memory improves.
  • Memory Tray: Place a few small objects on a tray and let your child observe them for a minute. Then cover the tray and ask them to recall and write down all the objects they remember seeing. This activity trains their visual memory and attention to detail.

  • Use your senses: Engaging multiple senses can help strengthen memory. Try to see, hear, touch, or even smell and taste things related to what you want to remember.
  • Chunk it up: Sometimes it's easier to remember information if we break it down into smaller chunks. Instead of trying to remember a long list of items, try grouping them together.
  • Get enough sleep: Our brains need rest to function at their best. Make sure to get plenty of sleep, as it helps consolidate memories.
  • Stay organized: Keeping things organized can make it easier to remember them. Use tools like calendars, to-do lists, and notebooks to help you stay organized.
