Objective
By the end of this lesson, the 2-year-old student will have a basic understanding of keeping their body healthy and engage in fun craft activities related to the topic.
Materials and Prep
- Construction paper
- Child-safe scissors
- Glue stick
- Markers or crayons
- Magazines or printed pictures of healthy foods and exercise
Before starting the lesson, make sure the materials are readily available and all the images of healthy foods and exercise are cut out from magazines or printed.
Activities
- Create a Healthy Foods Collage: Help the student cut out pictures of healthy foods from magazines or printed materials. Provide them with a sheet of construction paper and a glue stick. Encourage them to stick the pictures on the paper to create a collage of healthy foods.
- Draw and Color Healthy Foods: Give the student a blank sheet of construction paper and markers or crayons. Ask them to draw and color their favorite healthy foods.
- Exercise Movement Game: Play a simple exercise movement game with the student. Demonstrate different movements such as jumping, stretching, and running. Encourage the student to imitate the movements and have fun together.
