Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to create your own space-themed artwork, understand basic math concepts related to space, and learn about stars and planets in our solar system.

Materials and Prep

  • Colorful markers or crayons
  • Black construction paper
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Glow-in-the-dark stars stickers (optional)
  • Space-themed stickers (optional)
  • Space-themed books or videos (optional)

No prior knowledge required, just come with your curiosity and creativity!

Activities

  • Create a space scene on the black construction paper using markers or crayons. Add stars and planets.
  • Imagine you are an astronaut and draw what you would see in space!

  • Measure and cut out different shapes like stars and planets from the paper.
  • Practice your math skills by measuring the sides of your shapes with the ruler.

  • Add glow-in-the-dark stars stickers to your artwork for a glowing effect.
  • Learn about stars and how they shine in the dark!
