Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to perform movement skills in a variety of sequences and situations.
Materials and Prep
- Comfortable clothing for movement
- Enough space to move around safely
- No specific knowledge needed, just be ready to have fun!
Activities
Obstacle Course: Set up a simple obstacle course with pillows to jump over, lines to balance on, and tunnels to crawl through. Move through the course in different sequences.
Dance Party: Put on some music and dance freely. Try to match your movements to the beat of the music. Change your dance style with each new song.
Follow the Leader: Take turns being the leader and creating movement sequences for the other person to follow. Make it fun and challenging!
Animal Imitation: Pretend to move like different animals such as a frog, bear, or bird. Create sequences that combine different animal movements.
Talking Points
- "Let's try moving in different ways like jumping, crawling, and balancing. It's like creating our own special dance!"
- "When we follow each other's movements, we learn to work together and have fun at the same time."
- "Imagine we are animals in the jungle! How would a monkey move? Let's try to mimic that movement!"
- "Remember, it's okay to make mistakes. Just keep trying and have fun with the movements!"
