Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to use your Brickyard Building Blocks to create different shapes and structures while improving your math and reading skills.

Materials and Prep

Materials needed: Brickyard Building Blocks set

Prep: Make sure all the blocks are clean and ready to use.

Activities

  • Build a tower using the blocks and count how many blocks you used.

  • Create a shape using the blocks and try to name the shape.

  • Build a house and imagine a story about who lives there.

  • Spell out simple words using the blocks.

Talking Points

  • "Let's count how many blocks we have. Can you help me count them?"

  • "What shape are we building now? Is it a square, a triangle, or a rectangle?"

  • "Who do you think lives in the house we just built? Let's make up a story about them."

  • "Can you find the block with the letter 'A'? Let's spell out the word 'cat' together."
