Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will improve your friendship and teamwork skills, boost your self-esteem and confidence in pursuing activities, and learn about self-regulation.
Materials and Prep
Materials needed: paper, pencils, markers, a ball, and a timer.
Prep: Find a quiet space with enough room to move around for the activities.
Activities
- Friendship Tree: Draw a tree on a piece of paper. Write the names of your friends on the branches. Talk about why each friend is special to you.
- Teamwork Challenge: Set a timer for 5 minutes. With a family member, pass a ball back and forth without dropping it. See how many successful passes you can make as a team.
- Confidence Corner: Stand in front of a mirror and say three things you like about yourself. Practice speaking confidently and believing in yourself.
- Emotion Charades: Take turns acting out different emotions without speaking. See if your partner can guess the emotion. This helps with self-regulation by understanding and expressing feelings.
