By the end of this lesson, you will understand how weather and climate have changed the Earth over time.

Materials and Prep

Materials: Paper, colored pencils, ruler

Activities

  • Create a Weather Journal: Draw a picture of today's weather and write down how it feels outside. Do this for a week and compare the changes.

  • Make a Climate Chart: Draw a chart with different seasons and note the average temperature and weather for each season.

  • Weather Story Time: Read a fun story about weather and discuss how the characters deal with different weather conditions.

  • "Weather is what is happening in the sky right now. It can be sunny, rainy, windy, or snowy."

  • "Climate is the average weather in a place over many years. It helps us understand what to expect in different seasons."

  • "The Earth's climate has changed over time. Ice ages and warm periods have happened in the past."
