Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to bake a delicious cake all by yourself!

Materials and Prep

Materials needed:

  • Flour
  • Sugar
  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Baking powder
  • Baking pan
  • Mixing bowls
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Oven
  • Oven mitts

Things to know before the lesson:

  • Wash your hands before starting.
  • Ask an adult for help when using the oven.
  • Follow the recipe carefully.

Activities

  • Mixing the ingredients together in a bowl.
  • Start by adding flour, sugar, eggs, and milk into a mixing bowl. Use a spoon to mix everything together until smooth.

  • Pouring the batter into the baking pan.
  • Grease the baking pan and carefully pour the cake batter into it. Make sure it's spread out evenly.

  • Putting the cake in the oven to bake.
  • Ask an adult to help you place the baking pan in the preheated oven. Set a timer and wait for the cake to bake.

  • Decorating the cake once it's done.
  • Let the cake cool, then get creative with toppings like frosting, sprinkles, or fruits!
