Materials and Prep
Materials needed: Flashcards with letters and images (e.g. A for Apple), a whiteboard or paper, markers or crayons.
Prep: Familiarize yourself with the phonics sounds and corresponding images on the flashcards.
Activities
1. Letter Sound Match: Show a flashcard with a letter and an image. Ask the student to say the sound the letter makes and identify the image that starts with that sound.
2. Phonics Hunt: Write letters on the whiteboard and ask the student to find objects around the house that start with those letters.
3. Sing the Alphabet Song: Sing the alphabet song together, emphasizing the sounds of each letter.
