Materials and Prep

  • Cardboard box (big enough for a small child to sit in)
  • Markers or crayons
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Imagination and creativity!

No preparation needed, just be ready to have fun!

Activities

  • Create your own boxcar by decorating the cardboard box with markers or crayons. Add wheels, windows, and any other details you like!
  • Measure the dimensions of your boxcar using a ruler. How long is it? How wide is it?
  • Learn about the science of motion by pretending to drive your boxcar. What happens when you push it? How does it move?
