Talking Points

  • Why do we preheat the oven?
"Preheating the oven ensures that the cookies bake evenly and at the right temperature."
  • What happens when we mix the ingredients too much?
"Overmixing can make the cookies tough, so it's important to mix until just combined."
  • Why do we space the cookies apart on the sheet?
"Leaving space between cookies allows them to spread out while baking without sticking together."
  • What does baking powder do in the recipe?
"Baking powder helps the cookies rise and become light and fluffy."
  • How can we tell when the cookies are done baking?
"The edges of the cookies will turn golden brown, indicating they are ready to be taken out of the oven."
