Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to identify different countries on a world map and understand basic geographical features.

Materials and Prep

  • World map or globe
  • Pen or pencil
  • Coloring pencils or markers
  • Printed blank map of the world
  • Excitement to learn about the world!

Activities

  • Map Coloring: Color different countries on the blank map using the coloring pencils or markers. You can choose your favorite colors!
  • Country Guessing Game: Close your eyes, point to a random country on the map, and try to guess which country it is. Then, look it up to see if you were right!
  • Capital City Match: Write down the names of countries on small pieces of paper and match them to their capital cities on the map. Learn where the capital cities are located!

  • "Did you know that the Earth is divided into seven continents? Each continent has different countries on it. Let's explore them together!"
  • "Countries have unique flags that represent them. Can you find the flags of different countries on the map?"
