Activities
- Board Game: Play a board game with a focus on decision making. Discuss how in a community, people make decisions together to ensure fairness and order.
- Building Blocks: Use blocks to create a model community. Talk about different roles and jobs that people have in a community, such as teachers, police officers, and firefighters.
- Artwork: Create artwork that represents the idea of citizenship. Encourage the student to draw or paint what it means to be a good citizen, such as helping others or following rules.
- Picture Book Exploration: Read picture books about government and citizenship. Discuss the main ideas and ask the student to share their thoughts and opinions.
