Objective

By the end of this lesson, your child will be able to write their name independently.

Materials and Prep

Materials needed: crayons, paper, markers.

Prep: Make sure the writing materials are easily accessible for the child.

Activities

1. Name Tracing: Write your child's name in large letters on a piece of paper. Have them trace over the letters with a crayon.

2. Rainbow Writing: Write your child's name in large letters. Have them trace over the letters with different colored markers to create a rainbow effect.

3. Name Puzzle: Cut out letters of your child's name and have them put the letters in the correct order to spell their name.

Talking Points

  • "Let's practice writing your name together. Can you try to trace the letters I wrote?"
  • "Great job! Now, let's use different colors to make your name colorful like a rainbow. Which color do you want to start with?"
  • "Let's play a fun game with your name. Can you put the letters in the right order to spell your name?"
