Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to identify different types of dinosaurs and perform simple addition and subtraction using dinosaur-themed activities.
Materials and Prep
- Toy dinosaurs
- Paper and crayons
- Counting objects (could be small rocks or buttons)
- Basic addition and subtraction flashcards
No prior knowledge is needed for this lesson, just bring your enthusiasm for dinosaurs!
Activities
- Create your own dinosaur: Draw and color your unique dinosaur with as many details as you can imagine.
- Dino Math: Use toy dinosaurs to help you solve simple addition and subtraction problems. For example, if you have 3 dinosaurs and you add 2 more, how many do you have in total?
- Dino Hunt: Hide toy dinosaurs around the house or yard and go on a dinosaur hunt. Count how many dinosaurs you find and write it down.
