Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to identify and locate some important states on the map of the United States.
Materials and Prep
Materials: Map of the United States, colored pencils or markers.
Prep: Familiarize yourself with the names and locations of a few states on the map.
Activities
1. Color the Map: Print out a map of the United States and use different colors to fill in the states.
2. State Hunt: Ask an adult to call out a state name, and you have to point to it on the map.
3. State Facts: Pick a state on the map and learn one interesting fact about it. Share with your family!
