Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to recognize and identify different shapes.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper
  • Crayons or markers
  • Scissors

No prior knowledge needed, just your enthusiasm and creativity!

Activities

  • Shape Hunt: Go around your house and find objects that are different shapes. Draw or cut out those shapes from paper.
  • Shape Coloring: Color different shapes with different colors. For example, color all the circles red and all the squares blue.
  • Shape Collage: Cut out shapes from colored paper and create a collage by sticking them on a bigger sheet of paper.

Talking Points

  • "Let's look for shapes around us! Can you find a circle like a clock or a square like a window?"
  • "Now, let's color the shapes! How about we make the triangle yellow and the rectangle green?"
  • "Great job! Let's cut out the shapes and make a beautiful collage. What shape should we add next?"
