Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to recognize and write different letters of the alphabet.

Materials and Prep

Materials needed: paper, pencils, colored markers, and a computer or tablet with internet access. Make sure you have a comfortable workspace with good lighting.

Activities

  • Watch fun alphabet songs on YouTube to learn the ABCs. Sing along and practice saying the letters out loud.

  • Use your colored markers to write the letters of the alphabet on paper. Try to make each letter big and colorful!

  • Play an online alphabet game where you have to match letters with objects that start with the same letter. For example, match "A" with "Apple".

  • Create your own alphabet book by drawing pictures of objects that start with each letter. For example, draw an apple for "A" and a ball for "B".

Talking Points

  • Letters are like the building blocks of words. They make different sounds, and when we put them together, we can create words. For example, "C-A-T" spells cat.

  • Each letter has its own shape and sound. When we say the letter "A", it makes the "ah" sound like in "apple".

  • Practicing writing letters helps us get better at reading and writing. The more we practice, the easier it becomes!

  • Remember, it's okay to make mistakes when learning something new. Mistakes help us learn and improve. Keep trying and have fun with it!
