- Whiteboard and marker
- Printed clock faces
- Pencil and paper
No prior knowledge needed, just come with a curious mind!
Activities
- Clock Matching Game: Print out multiple clock faces with different times. Draw the clock hands on separate pieces of paper. Match the correct clock hands to the corresponding time.
- Time Pictionary: Draw different times on the whiteboard using the analog clock. Have the student guess the time shown and then try drawing times for the student to guess.
- Time Worksheets: Complete worksheets that require drawing the clock hands to match the given time, or writing the time shown on the clock.
Talking Points
- "The short hand on the clock represents the hour, while the long hand represents the minutes."
- "When the short hand is pointing to the 12, it indicates the start of a new hour."
- "To read the time, start by looking at the hour the short hand is pointing to, then determine the minutes based on the long hand."
