No other materials are needed for this lesson. Find a safe open space for the activities.
Activities
- Firefighter Rescue: The student wearing the firefighter hat can pretend to rescue a toy or stuffed animal, while the other student follows along, mimicking the actions.
- Police Officer March: The student with the police officer hat can lead a marching activity, with the other student following behind, copying the movements.
- Crossing the Street: The police officer can guide the other student on how to safely cross the street, incorporating movements like walking, skipping, and hopping.
Talking Points
- "Let's pretend we are firefighters saving a toy from a pretend fire. We need to move quickly and carefully."
- "Now, let's march like police officers. Lift your knees high and swing your arms just like the police do."
- "Imagine we are at a crosswalk. The police officer will show us how to walk safely, skip joyfully, and hop carefully across the street."
