Activities

Introduction: Show the toddler pictures of apples and pumpkins and ask them to identify each. Explain that today, we will be learning about English grammar using these two fruits.

Noun Hunt: Write "apple" and "pumpkin" on the whiteboard or paper. Show the toddler an apple and ask them to point to the word "apple." Repeat with a pumpkin. Explain that "apple" and "pumpkin" are called nouns, which are words that name people, places, things, or ideas.

Sorting Game: Cut out pictures of various objects and have the toddler sort them into two categories: "apple" and "not apple." Repeat the same activity with "pumpkin" and "not pumpkin." This will help reinforce the concept of nouns.

Adjective Exploration: Show the toddler an apple and ask them to describe it using adjectives. Write down their responses on the whiteboard or paper. Repeat the same activity with a pumpkin. Explain that adjectives are words that describe nouns.

Creating Sentences: Use the collected adjectives and nouns to create simple sentences with the toddler. For example, "The red apple is juicy" or "The big pumpkin is round." Encourage the toddler to come up with their own sentences as well.

- "Look at this picture! Can you tell me what it is? That's right, it's an apple! And what about this one? Yes, it's a pumpkin. Today, we will learn about words that name things like apples and pumpkins."
- "Let's play a game! I will write the word 'apple' and the word 'pumpkin' on the board. Can you show me where the word 'apple' is? Great job! Now, can you find the word 'pumpkin'? You're doing fantastic!"
- "Now, we have some pictures of different things. I want you to help me sort them. If it's an apple, put it in this pile. If it's not an apple, put it in the other pile. Let's do the same for pumpkins. You're doing amazing at sorting!"
