Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to recognize and count numbers from 1 to 5.

Materials and Prep

Materials needed:
- Number flashcards (1-5)
- Counting objects like blocks or toys
- Paper and crayons for drawing numbers

Prep:
- Have the number flashcards ready
- Set up a space for counting activities

Activities

1. Number Hunt: Hide the number flashcards around the room and ask the student to find them in order from 1 to 5.

2. Counting Fun: Use the counting objects to practice counting from 1 to 5. Encourage the student to touch and move each object as they count.

3. Draw Numbers: Have the student draw each number from 1 to 5 on the paper using crayons. Encourage them to count while drawing each number.

Talking Points

  • "Let's find the number 1! Can you show me where the number 1 is hiding?"
  • "Great job! Now, let's count these blocks together. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5!"
  • "Time to draw the number 3! Can you draw three lines to make the number 3?"
