Materials and Prep

Materials: Computer or tablet with internet access

Prep: Make sure Parker has a Youtube account ready for the activities

Activities

  • Create a Positive Comment: Ask Parker to watch a Youtube video of his choice and then write a positive and encouraging comment to the creator.
  • Design a Kindness Challenge: Have Parker create a video challenging his friends to perform acts of kindness in their community.
  • Discuss Online Safety: Watch a short video on internet safety and have a discussion with Parker on how to be safe while using Youtube.

  • Being Kind Online: "Remember, just like in real life, it's important to be kind to others online too. Your words can make a big difference."
  • Helping Others: "Think about how you can use Youtube to help others. It could be by sharing knowledge, making people laugh, or spreading positivity."
  • Respecting Others' Work: "When you use someone else's work on Youtube, make sure to give them credit. It's like saying thank you for sharing."
  • Staying Safe: "Always check with an adult before sharing any personal information online. Your safety is the most important thing."
