  • Computer or tablet with internet access (for research, if needed)

No prior knowledge is required for this lesson.

Activities

  1. Brainstorming Session: Encourage the student to think about the topic of their video and what message they want to convey. Have them jot down ideas, themes, and key points they want to include in their script.
  2. Structuring the Script: Explain the importance of having a clear beginning, middle, and end in a video script. Guide the student in organizing their ideas into an introduction, main body, and conclusion. Emphasize the need for a strong opening and a memorable closing.
  3. Writing Dialogue: Discuss the difference between dialogue and narration. Encourage the student to incorporate dialogue in their script to make it more engaging and interactive. Provide examples of how to write dialogue effectively, such as using descriptive language and natural-sounding conversations.
  4. Editing and Revising: Explain the importance of revising and editing their script for clarity, coherence, and grammar. Encourage the student to read their script aloud to identify any awkward phrasing or areas that need improvement. Offer guidance on how to make revisions and suggest using online grammar tools for assistance.
