Materials and Prep
- Imagination
- Comfortable outdoor space
- No other materials required, just a sense of adventure!
Activities
- Story Circle: Sit in a circle outdoors and take turns adding to a story. Start with "Once upon a time..."
- Character Hunt: Walk around and find objects that could belong to characters in a story. Use them to create a character and tell their story.
- Sound Scavenger Hunt: Listen carefully to the sounds around you and incorporate them into a story you create together.
Talking Points
- Imagination is key: "Imagine we are in a magical forest where anything can happen!"
- Listen and take turns: "Let's listen to each other's ideas and take turns adding to the story."
- Use your surroundings: "Look around you, what can you see that can be part of our story?"
- Have fun with sound: "What sound do you hear? How can we include it in our story?"
- Be creative: "There are no wrong answers in storytelling, let your imagination run wild!"
