Materials and Prep

  • Magnifying glass
  • Sketchbook and colored pencils
  • Access to a garden or park
  • No prior knowledge required

Activities

  • Nature Scavenger Hunt: Go outside to observe and find different living things like insects, plants, and birds. Use the magnifying glass to get a closer look.
  • Sketching Session: Choose one living thing you found during the scavenger hunt and sketch it in your sketchbook. Add colors and labels to your drawing.
  • Research Time: Look up interesting facts about the living thing you sketched. Write down three cool facts that you learned.
