Materials and Prep

Materials: notebook, pencil, ruler, magnifying glass, measuring tape, small plastic container, water, pond guidebook (optional)

Prep: Find a safe pond to explore, ensure adult supervision

Activities

1. Pond Observation Journal: Observe the pond ecosystem, draw and describe what you see in your notebook.

2. Math Measurement: Use the ruler and measuring tape to measure the width and depth of the pond.

3. Water Sample Study: Collect a small water sample in the container, observe it with the magnifying glass and note your findings.
