No prior knowledge is required, just an open mind and curiosity to learn!
Activities
- Research Time: Use the internet or books to research about lesser-known Black historical figures. Create a short summary of what you learn.
- Coloring Fun: Print out coloring pages of influential Black figures and events in history. Color them while listening to music from that era.
- Storytelling: Write a short story or draw a comic strip about a fictional adventure with a Black historical figure as the main character.

- Rosa Parks: "Rosa Parks was a brave woman who refused to give up her seat on the bus. This act started a movement for equality."
- Harriet Tubman: "Harriet Tubman was a courageous woman who helped many enslaved people escape to freedom through the Underground Railroad."
- Thurgood Marshall: "Thurgood Marshall was the first Black Supreme Court Justice. He fought for equal rights and justice for all."
- Mae Jemison: "Mae Jemison was the first Black woman astronaut. She showed that anyone can reach for the stars."
