Objective

By the end of this lesson, Darius will be able to bake a delicious batch of chocolate chip cookies from scratch.

Materials and Prep

  • Ingredients: flour, sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla extract, baking soda, salt, chocolate chips
  • Baking equipment: mixing bowls, measuring cups and spoons, baking sheet, oven, oven mitts
  • Before starting, make sure all ingredients are at room temperature and the oven is preheated to 350°F.

Activities

  • Activity 1: Mixing the Dough
    Mix together the dry ingredients in one bowl and the wet ingredients in another. Combine them gradually to form the cookie dough.
  • Activity 2: Shaping and Baking
    Use a spoon to drop cookie dough onto a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  • Activity 3: Enjoying the Cookies
    Allow the cookies to cool for a few minutes before enjoying them with a glass of milk or sharing with family and friends.
