  • Pictures depicting different emotions

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Activities

  • Use the task cards to match the emotions with their corresponding expressions.

  • Create your own flashcards with different emotions and practice identifying them.

  • Look at the pictures of people showing various emotions and describe what you see.

  • Act out different emotions and have someone guess what you are portraying.

Talking Points

  • Emotions are a vital part of our daily lives. They help us understand how we and others are feeling. As Maya Angelou said, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."

  • It's important to be able to recognize and express our emotions. According to Daniel Goleman, "In a very real sense, we have two minds, one that thinks and one that feels."

  • By practicing with task cards, flashcards, and pictures, we can improve our emotional intelligence. Remember, as Brene Brown said, "Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we'll ever do."
