Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will have fun while improving their physical skills and learning about sharks.

Materials and Prep

  • Open space for movement
  • Imagination

No special materials are needed, just a clear space to move around in and a big imagination!

Activities

  • Shark Swim: Pretend to swim like a shark, moving smoothly through the water.
  • Imagine you are a shark swimming in the ocean. Can you move silently like a shark?

  • Shark Hunt: Set up "shark fins" (paper cutouts) around the room for the student to find and collect.
  • Let's go on a shark hunt! Can you find all the shark fins hidden around the room?

  • Shark Tag: Play a game of tag where the student is the shark trying to tag other "fish".
  • You're the shark now! Can you catch the other fish by tagging them gently?

  • Sharks are amazing creatures that live in the ocean.
  • "Sharks are big fish that live in the ocean and they are very good swimmers!"

  • Sharks have sharp teeth to help them eat their food.
  • "Sharks have very sharp teeth to help them eat their favorite food like fish and seals!"

  • Sharks come in different sizes and colors.
  • "Sharks can be big or small, and they can have different colors like gray, white, or even black!"
