Activities

1. Civil War Timeline: Create a timeline of key events in the Civil War. Draw pictures and write short descriptions for each event.

2. Research Project: Choose a famous figure from the Civil War (e.g., Abraham Lincoln, Robert E. Lee) and research their life and contributions.

3. Battle Map: Draw a map showing the major battle sites of the Civil War. Color each side with different colors.

  • Causes of the Civil War: "The Civil War started because some states wanted to leave the United States. This was because they disagreed about important things like slavery and states' rights."
  • Key Figures: "Abraham Lincoln was the President of the United States during the Civil War. He wanted to keep the country together. Robert E. Lee was a famous Confederate general who led the Southern army."
  • Major Events: "The Battle of Gettysburg was a big battle that happened in Pennsylvania. It was a turning point in the war. The Emancipation Proclamation was a law that President Lincoln made to free the slaves in Confederate states."
