Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will learn about different water animals and their habitats.
Materials and Prep
Materials: Paper, crayons/markers, scissors, glue
Prep: None
Activities
Create a colorful underwater world: Draw and color water animals like fish, turtles, and dolphins on a piece of paper. Cut them out and glue them onto another paper to make an underwater scene.
Guess the animal: Describe a water animal to your parent or sibling without saying its name, and see if they can guess which animal you are talking about.
Act like a water animal: Choose a water animal and pretend to move and sound like that animal. Can you swim like a fish or crawl like a crab?
Talking Points
Water animals live in the ocean, rivers, lakes, and ponds. They need water to survive. Say: "Water animals like fish and turtles live in the water, just like how we need air to breathe."
Some water animals have fins to swim, while others have shells to protect themselves. Say: "Fish have fins to help them swim fast, and turtles have shells to keep them safe."
Water animals come in different shapes, sizes, and colors. Some are big like whales, and some are small like seahorses. Say: "Just like how we look different, water animals also look different from each other."
