Activities
- Obstacle Course: Set up a simple obstacle course using household items like chairs, pillows, and cushions. Louie can crawl under tables, jump over pillows, and balance on a line.
- Dance Party: Play Louie's favorite upbeat music and have a dance party. Encourage him to move freely, express himself, and follow the rhythm.
- Simon Says: Play a game of Simon Says to improve listening skills and focus. Use physical movements like jumping jacks, hopping on one foot, or touching toes.
- Animal Walks: Pretend to be different animals like bears, frogs, or crabs. Have Louie move around the room imitating each animal's walk.
Talking Points
- Coordination: "Coordination means using different parts of your body together. Can you try touching your head and rubbing your belly at the same time?"
- Balance: "Balance is like standing on one foot without wobbling. Imagine you're a tree swaying in the wind!"
- Focus: "Focus means paying attention and staying on task. Let's practice focusing by following instructions carefully."
- Fun: "It's important to have fun while being active. What's your favorite way to move and play?"
