Activities
- Read a Dinosaur Picture Book: Begin the lesson by reading a dinosaur picture book together. Encourage the toddler to listen attentively and ask questions about the dinosaurs.
- Identify Nouns: After reading the book, ask the toddler to point out and name different dinosaurs in the pictures. Write down the names of the dinosaurs on the whiteboard or paper.
- Practice Verbs: Choose a few action words related to dinosaurs, such as "roar," "stomp," or "fly." Encourage the toddler to act out these actions while saying the words.
- Create Simple Sentences: Using the dinosaur names and action words, help the toddler create simple sentences. For example, "The T-Rex roars" or "The Pterodactyl flies."
- Optional: Flashcard Match-Up Game: If you have printed dinosaur flashcards, play a matching game with the toddler. Lay out the flashcards face down and take turns flipping two cards at a time, trying to find a match of a dinosaur and its corresponding action word.
