Objective

By the end of this lesson, Audrey will be able to represent the qualities of experiences and things that are interesting or beautiful by choosing among aspects of subject matter in her artwork.

Materials and Prep

  • Sketchbook or paper
  • Pencils and erasers
  • Coloring materials (markers, colored pencils, crayons)
  • No prior knowledge required

Activities

1. Nature Walk Sketching: Take a nature walk and sketch the interesting and beautiful things you see. Focus on capturing the details that stand out to you.

2. Collage Creations: Cut out pictures from magazines or newspapers that you find fascinating. Create a collage by arranging and gluing them onto a piece of paper.

3. Colorful Creations: Use your coloring materials to add vibrant colors to your sketches and collages. Experiment with different color combinations.
