Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to create your own exciting narrative story.

Materials and Prep

Materials needed: Paper, pencil, crayons/markers

Prep: None

Activities

  • Story Starters: Write down 3 different story starters on separate pieces of paper. Choose one and start your story based on that.
  • Character Creation: Draw a picture of your main character and write a short description of who they are.
  • Setting Exploration: Draw the setting of your story. Is it in a magical forest or a spaceship?
  • Story Mapping: Create a map of your story. What are the main events that will happen?

  • Characters Bring Stories to Life: "Think about who your characters are and what they want."
  • Setting Sets the Scene: "Describe where your story takes place to make it more exciting."
