Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will understand the unique adaptations and behaviors of sharks, including how these traits help them survive in their underwater environment. The student will also develop a greater appreciation for these fascinating creatures.

Materials and Prep

Activities

  • Shark Drawing: The student will draw their favorite shark, focusing on its unique adaptations (like fins, teeth, and color). They can label these features and explain how they help the shark survive.

  • Shark Behavior Role Play: The student will act out different shark behaviors, like hunting or swimming. This can be done in a safe space where they can move around freely, mimicking how sharks interact with their environment.

  • Shark Facts Game: The student will create a list of interesting shark facts and quiz a family member or friend. This will help reinforce what they have learned about shark adaptations and behaviors.
