Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will understand the importance of caring for animals, learn how to help a frog in need, and discover interesting facts about frogs and their habitat.
Materials and Prep
- A small bowl or container (to represent a bath for the frog)
- Water (to fill the bowl for the frog's bath)
- A soft cloth or sponge (for cleaning the frog)
- A toy frog or a picture of a frog (to use as a model)
Before starting the lesson, make sure to explain to the student how to gently handle animals and why it is important to keep them safe and clean.
Activities
-
Frog Bath Time:
Fill the bowl with water and pretend to give the toy frog a bath. Use the cloth or sponge to gently clean it, explaining how this helps the frog feel better and be more active.
-
Frog Hop Race:
After the frog is clean, set up a small racecourse. Use the toy frog to demonstrate hopping. Then, let the student hop like a frog and see how far they can go!
-
Frog Facts:
Share interesting facts about frogs, such as what they eat, where they live, and how they help the environment. Encourage the student to ask questions and share what they find fascinating about frogs.
