Objective
By the end of this lesson, Aleksander will be able to recognize and differentiate between uppercase and lowercase letter B. He will also learn to take turns while playing a fun game that involves rolling a letter die and moving to the next letter.
Materials and Prep
- Letter die (with uppercase and lowercase letters)
- A designated play area for rolling the die and moving around
- Space for Aleksander to move and play safely
Before the lesson, ensure that Aleksander understands the concept of taking turns and is familiar with the letters of the alphabet, especially the letter B.
Activities
-
Letter Die Roll:
Start by introducing the letter die. Show Aleksander how to roll the die and identify the letter that lands on top. Celebrate each time he recognizes the letter B, both uppercase and lowercase!
-
Letter B Movement:
After rolling the die, Aleksander can take a step forward for every letter he rolls. If he rolls a B, he can jump or dance to celebrate! This helps him associate movement with learning.
-
Turn-Taking Game:
Encourage Aleksander to take turns rolling the die. You can model this by saying, "Now it's my turn!" and then "Your turn, Aleksander!" This reinforces the concept of sharing and patience.
Talking Points
- "Look, Aleksander! This is the letter B. Can you say 'B'?"
- "Great job! This is a big B! Can you show me a little b?"
- "When we roll the die, we can move! Let's jump if we roll a B!"
- "It's your turn now! Can you roll the die and see what letter we get?"
- "Wow, you rolled a B! Let's take a big step forward!"
